STRIVE: Transitions in School, Adolescence, and Adulthood

STRIVE (Strategies to Rejuvenate Interest and Value in Education) is a YG program that provides foundations and stability for youth under state care. This was for a graduation event of theirs celebrating 8th graders and seniors. Here is the original link.

Capturing candid moments

STRIVE is one of the smaller programs that YG supports, but it certainly had counselors that made up for it with vigor and enthusiasm. Theonita Wright (pictured above) was a STRIVE graduate herself—now armed with wisdom and a maternal spirit for the students who need it more than ever. Difficulties in school, struggles in home life, and lacking familial support, were common setbacks. Theonita was, and is, still determined to prepare them as much as possible for the road ahead.
